Needed: PaintShopPro, two photos
approximately the same size and an eye for what 2 graphics will fit together
nicely when combined.
I chose the 2 photo's
below with the thought of
that would be nice to have
the woman sitting next
to the fireplace. Simple
enough eh?! LOL

I wanted the fireplace in
the background and with only these 2 images on my PSP work area I had the
fireplace activated.
Note: Whichever one is
activated when you use the arithmetic function will retain it's original
size. The other graphic will adopt the same size when the are combined.

Use these settings this
time.

of images combined.
Cool result but I didn't
want flames showing on her
leg and the water color
was dominant going up to
the fireplace and I didn't
really like that either.
So I closed out the result
and went back in.
Image/Arithmetic
This time I chose the same
original settings but instead
of choosing ADD, I chose
LIGHTEST!
This option will show the
lightest areas between each
individual graphic when
they are combined!
Lightest result shown.
Well this was much better
but there was still the two
problem areas showing. the
water and fire on the leg.
This time I left this
image open for reference and I
used the spray paint with
the foreground set on
the color Black, solid
color.
I worked on both of my
original images spraying the
unwanted areas with the
black .
On the fireplace image I
sprayed all along the
bottom section, looking at
the last combined image
for guidance and covered
all the areas that were
showing up on her legs.
Painting completed shown
below:

On the Image shown above I
sprayed out most
of the water and dock that
I didn't want showing.
Then once again I went
back to Image/Arithmetic
and chose the same
original settings but with
LIGHTER chosen.
The end result is shown
below!

True I could have even
cleaned it up better than I did but I think I have good enough for you to
understand this technique that is readily available in PSP and is
seldom mentioned or talked
about!
IT IS JUST SO KEWL!

I hope you give it a try
and incorporate it into your creative resources! I certainly will!
