29 (T) Text Tool Suggestions: White text will probably show up the best against the red background.
30 Add text to the red section of the card. The title name of the holiday above the small graphic if you'd like. Settings = Use your own! If you want to use bevels or drop shadow effects that is up to you.
31 Add Text of some kind underneath the small graphic.
32 Layers > Merge > Merge Visible
33 Layers > New Raster Layer Add your watermark. ----- 2 Ways 2 Go !!!! A - There are 2 ways to save. Saving as a gif will preserve the transparency but will give away to less colors and could possibly give you less than desirable quality results but could be used with any background type.
B- Saving as a jpg will require adding another layer that will mesh with the background that you intend using. Usually a simple color fill is the easiest to do. This would give you the higher quality but would have to be used on the same background as your fill. Pick either A or B below. ----- TYPE A 34 File > Export > GIF Optimizer Settings: Transparency Tab = Existing image or layer transparency
Partial Transparency Tab = Use Full transparency for pixels below 30%. No, use the existing image color at 100% opacity = Checked.
Colors Tab = 256 colors. How much dithering do you want = 0% Optimized Octree = Checked Include Window's colors = NOT Checked.
Format Tab = Non-Interlaced Checked. Version 89a = Checked OK Save ------- TYPE B 34 Layers > New Raster Layer
35 Materials Palette Select the color that you would like your background color to be when you make your stationery.
36 (F) Flood Fill Tool Flood fill the new layer with it.
37 Layers > Arrange > Send to Bottom
38 File > Export > JPEG Optmizer Compression = 25
AFTERTHOUGHTS: You can use different colors, textures (such as paper texture which would suit the purpose), patterns etc., to design your own unique appearance of the card. I hope you enjoyed this utility tutorial that you can use for any holiday and still get good and pleasing results easily. ---------------------------------------------- My addy: Hooty at hootyhugz@gmail.com Approved by the HootyTutTestersGroup!
